On July 9th, the Municipality of Naples organized a meeting to present the results of the SPOTTED project. The meeting included various areas of the municipal administration, such as environment, urban planning, urban transformation, protection of the territory, mobility and infrastructure, as well as technical services at the local level; welfare, and municipal real estate. Over 50 participants took part in the online meeting. External stakeholders included the Federico II University – Architecture and Planning Department, the Metropolitan City GIS Management Unit, the Department of Agriculture, and the CNR, along with other organizations and professionals in the environmental and open data fields such as CityOpenSource and GIS Management.
The internal group of the Naples pilot, consisting of civil servants from the environment and urban planning departments of the Municipality of Naples, provided an update on the project’s results and discussed expanding the use of the data analysis outcomes. They also talked about introducing more digital services to complement those already developed for SPOTTED by the EU Research partnership. The Energy Manager of the Municipality of Naples presented the objectives of the action plan for sustainable energy and climate (PAESC). Additionally, there was a discussion on Open Data, particularly in connection with the European BeOpen project on HVDs and OD. Naples is a partner of the BeOpen EU consortium.
The Public Green Service provided detailed descriptions of the analysis model, indexes for evaluating the consistency and health status of the vegetation, as well as support for the management and implementation strategies of the Municipal Administration’s urban green capital. The Municipality of Naples invited participants to brainstorm new, experimental use cases for the SPOTTED services to be applied to other land management procedures.
